The Junior section began the season with a full membership once again and this year we were able introduce a few new members from the waiting list - and several young girls, which is encouraging for the future.

A 10 year celebration Harvey and Craig were presented with a trophy at the annual dinner this year for being the longest serving players of the junior section as they were both here at the start 10 years ago. It was also fitting in our 10th year that 2 of our former juniors James Adderson and Jack Gray won Club Person of the Year and Most Improved Player awards - voted for by the whole club. Plus, in the club tournaments, Holly won the ladies doubles and Harvey was runner up in the mens.

Chris Cory Award presentation by Andy

Chris Cory Junior Award : Chris Cory was an adult member of Stowmarket Badminton Club who sadly dided following a road accident. As he was a great believer in encouraging and developing a love of badminton amongst young people an award was created by his family in his memory. Every year the committee selects a member from the junior section to receive this award; it can be given to recognise development, attitude or commitment by our youngsters. This year the award went to Ellie.

Level 1 Coaching qualification success Well done to Tim Turner who attained his level 1 coaching award. He is a great asset to the junior sessions every Saturday morning.

Clubmark /Qualifications We once again attained Clubmark status and our coaches will be updating their Safeguarding & Protecting Children qualifications and First Aid Certificates this year to ensure we qualify for it again next year.
